Mountain Horse is a Swedish company which designs and manufactures high-quality equestrian wear including jackets, breeches, tall riding boots and accessories. Mountain Horse is renowned for its use of design technology and latest fabrics, combining innovation with the practical needs of all riders.
The company was started in 1988 by Lars Sjosvard. His background was in footwear and he was involved in the development of the sports trainer as we know it now.
Lars had always ridden and was astonished riding boots were manufactured along the same lines as everyday footwear. He could not understand why they were not specifically designed to be supportive and cushioning with safety features relevant to riding. So, he set about designing and making his own. The first boot he produced was the Mountain Horse Winter Rider and, from this, a complete technical range of Mountain Horse clothing and footwear was born
